Policy Statement of
 The Council of Ministers
of Prime Minister Major Kuang Abhaiwongse
Delivered to Parliament
on Thursday, 7 February 1946

Policy Announcement*

Mr. President,
Distinguished Members
,

Persuant to His Majesty the King's gracious appointment of myself as Prime Minister, per Royal Command dated 31 January 1946 and the subsequent appointment of the Council of Ministers, per Royal Command dated 2 February 1946. According to Code
50 of the Constitution of the Kingdom of Thailand, I would like to ask for your kind approva
l.

The government is aware of the critical situation we all are facing and, surely, the government is struggling to re-establish the national security, be it domestic or international, for the sake of the people. The success lay in two factors; resuming diplomatic missions with other sovereign nations and resettling chaotic state affairs.
To achieve the first goal, the government needs to collaborate with the United Nations, in order to minimise the external impacts, whereas, to attain the second goal, it is essential to set up the true democratic system in the kingdom. Therefore, I suggest the revision and amendment of the Constitution.

Apart from that, it is indispensable to eliminate financial and economic drawbacks, improve the quality of life of the people, maintain national security and justice and preserve the moral essence.

Finally, I beg all of you to collaborate with the government, so we all can see the brighter future.

Thank you.
